Praia do Carvalho is a small beach sheltered by rocks. This beach is about 1200 meters from the entrance to Rocha Brava. To access the beach, we can choose to take steep stairs cut into the cliff face, or go through the car park and go down some steps down a tunnel made in the rock to the beach. Unfortunately, there are no bathrooms or restaurants in Praia do Carvalho so you will have to bring your own food and drinks.
Praia do Paraíso is a small beach protected by steep cliffs. There are no amenities on the beach, but the “Mar d'Fora” Restaurant, above, is open all year and has an outside terrace to enjoy a meal with views over the cliffs.
Vale de Centeanes is a protected bay, with some rocks at the eastern end about 2kms east of the village of Carvoeiro. There is a restaurant at the entrance to the beach, with sanitary facilities, open for lunch and dinner. The road to the beach was recently built as well as new parking areas.
Praia Grande is at the mouth of the river Arade in front of Portimão. It is a wide, long beach with several beach bars open in the summer season. It is particularly good for children as it is inside the jetties at the mouth of the river, and the waves are a little softer than on other beaches. The sand here is very soft and fine. Walking along the beach along the bank of the river we will find fishermen in their work and the village of Ferragudo. In this locality we can find several bars and restaurants serving fresh fish just caught on our coast.
Located in the parish of Ferragudo, Praia dos Caneiros is one of the best beaches in the municipality of Lagoa.
